Great breakfast stop at the beach. Clean with a wide selection of breakfast and lunch favorites, reasonably priced. Service is brisk and attentive. Not (at all) fancy, but very good. Consistent. We always stop here - highly recommend!

Will only honor military discount if military members wear their uniform in the restaurant. I can't even begin to list all of the reasons why we don't wear our uniforms when we're not at work. The first, of course, would be personnel security. Our uniforms can make us a target to those that want to harm members of the military. Many military commands advise members to not wear their uniforms off-base unless conducting official business. So, this requirement by your restaurant is not helping your reputation within the military community or those that support the military. Can't a military family just come in and enjoy a meal without having to put a uniform on? Valid military ID is usually the preferred means to show our status. I'll consider removing this post only after your policy is changed. Until then, it'll stay. Oh, and the word is getting out of Facebook too. Do the right thing.

Service fast, food was awesome. Philly Cheese Omelet. Those words should be enough to cement this place as the best breakfast place ever, but let me say--the eggs were fresh, silky smooth and perfect, the steak was hot and flavorful, the home fries were seasoned just right and the toast, even the toast!--was perfect. Coffee was also quite good. 'Little waffle in the henhouse'--per my wife it was 'eggcelent' and a perfect portion for breakfast. She added fresh fruit. Sweet potato pecan waffle--she said it tasted amazing. The sweet potatoes and pecans were in the batter. Blueberry pancakes--they were 'super-good' and the blueberries were really fresh. The service was friendly and fast--faster than Waffle House and the food was much better. The food came out at the perfect temperature. We were in and out quickly.

We came here for breakfast before hitting the beach. I like the less touristy feel of Eggs Up Grill. I ordered the egg blt sandwich with a side of fruit. Both were good but the fruit side could have been better. Service was good. Solid place to eat if you need a break from the pancake houses.

I used to come here all the time but found another breakfast place that provides a bit better value. The omelette and hash browns are both very good but if that's all I had I would have left a bit hungry. The food is good the portions are descent and the service is excellent. Overall it's a good place to enjoy a quick breakfast.

Ate at the Eggs Up Grill on 17 in Surfside Beach, I had the 'classic' which consisted of 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or home fries and toast..I have to say that EVERYTHING was perfect!! By far the BEST breakfast in the area, beats the heck out the typical chains and the other local pancake houses!! Prices are very good and the service (Miranda was our server) was outstanding, so glad we found this place, will be eating breakfast only at the Eggs Up Grill when we are here!!

Service by Rene was awesome!! What a sweet lady. Boyfriend had never tried grits cuz we live in Michigan so she asked the kitchen for a small dish so he could try it. The other people around us heard since we were right next to the kitchen and he had two other tables watch him. The girl behind us had even peeked around her booth and the other table suggested hot sauce. Everyone was so nice! Coffee always filled. Food really good. Bananas foster French toast was delicious. Seemed like the employees all got along too. Everyone was laughing and joking. I'd definitely go again.

We're on vacation & found this gem through Yelp. We weren't disappointed! We arrived around 10:30, a little late for breakfast, but was sat right away. Our waitress, Miranda, was pleasant & took great care of us. Their Cuppa Cocoa & sweet potato pancakes with their homemade cinnamon syrup is delicious! AND our waitress asked if we would like our bacon crispy, yes please! That never happens. We will ill def return... prob tomorrow morning.

Can't beat it for breakfast. This place has it down to a science. They get you in, take your order, and your food is there before you finish half a cup of coffee (but they're always there for refills). Food is good, always as ordered, and service is always pleasant. Prices are average, or even a little below average for a breakfast place. Order one of the loaded home fry platters. OMG! I've never seen so much breakfast food on one plate. I couldn't finish it either time, and I'm a breakfast person. i never have trouble being a member of the clean plate club!! They also now serve lunch, but I've never tried it. If it's half as good as breakfast, it will be good.

The service is attentive and friendly. They keep your coffee cups warm and full. This is a clean restaurant with reasonable prices, mainly serving breakfast, brunch and lunch. The orange juice is low acid and very tasty. The eggs are fresh and delicious, waffles are light and fluffy. The pancakes are light and delicious. The raisin bread french toast is incredible. Other items to mention are their home fries, corned beef hash and grits, which are the best I've ever had. Being this restaurant is about a mile from my home, I do frequent this restaurant. I have not tried any other Eggs Up Grills. This restaurant does stand out above the rest for breakfast dining. This is one of the best of the beach and I do go back again and again.

The food and service here is amazing! I arrived with a party of 10 and they were able to accommodate us without any issue. I ordered the Goodness Gracious omelette, with home fries, raisin toast, and a side order of turkey bacon. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Usually with large parties someone's order gets messed up or at least one of us are unsatisfied with the food. Not this time! Everyone's meal was exactly as it was described and we all left immensely satisfied. I wish I could give this place 6 stars!

I have to give this place a five rating. I've been coming here off and on since this place opened up in 2001. Every single visit has been busy but the staff is accommodating and very cheerful and friendly! Every time! You might have to wait awhile for your breakfast but that's what your coffee and paper are for (or for those of us who have online capabilities, the Internet). There is ample seating indoors and a few tables and chairs outdoors. To date, there have been 1,683,002 eggs sold (April 2010) Like this place alot? Well, then pick up an Eggs Up Grill t-shirt with clever phrases, such as, "This place cracks me up!" or "Nothing beats a great pair of eggs."

  • Thomas M.

Very inconsistent service ! The owner is more interested in keeping his tables straight than keep customers waited on. I do like the place but one time you come in and they fall all over you today looked over us and waited on someone after us. The food was room temperature and they check out person never spoke to us. It was all business and did not care if we were there or not! It's always small details that make you great or mediocre and this place for now is just mediocre!!!

A step up from the cookie cutter pancake/breakfast eateries that pepper Myrtle Beach. The ingredients and quality were above average for the cost on the menu. The food came out quick and was very tasty. Service was good.

Every time we come to Myrtle Beach we always go here for breakfast. Sometimes even more than once. This is seriously the best breakfast place in the world!

Great breakfast place. Casual atmosphere, friendly staff, low prices! Got in at 9 on a Sunday and were seated with no wait - food came out quickly. They have a lot of adventurous sweet breakfast options like a red velvet waffle or bananas foster pancakes that looked very good. We had the pancakes, sweet potato pancakes ( light sweet potato flavor), scrambled egg whites, Philly cheesesteak omelette, and eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes. Pancakes were light and fluffy, all eggs cooked well, and the breakfast potatoes were really good - well seasoned, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The portions were well sized and the total bill for 3 adults & 1 child came to $33. Can't complain there Only suggestion would be to arrive early. We drove past later and t was looking pretty busy. I assume they get a rush after church service

Wow. I have not been to a Eggs Up Grill before but you can guarantee I will be back! I come up to Myrtle quite a lot and I have to say this is one of my new favorites. A smaller restaurant, but I like the feeling of importance from the waiters always checking up and giving their input on the food before you order. I decided to have the Philly Cheese Steak Omelet with home made fries, which are cut up cubes of potatoes and some wheat toast. By far the best omelet I have had at a restaurant. The texture and perfectly cooked steak was truly mouth dropping. Although the wait was a medium wait it was all worth it. A great restaurant not only for couples, but great for groups and families! Pancakes and simple foods kids will love. If your in town, wake up one morning and take a trip to Eggs Up Grill! You will definitely want to come back.

Excellent food, awesome service, great prices! It was a nice little restaurant that had a very homey feel to it. The waitresses were exceedingly nice and there was no wait. The prices were so much cheaper than I've been paying while vacationing here in Myrtle. I had the steak and eggs and it was amazing! It's plenty of food, also. I paid 23 dollars for 2 people and got food for 2 people, endless coffee and a fancy hot chocolate. You won't find a better place for breakfast around the south beach.

  • Laurie K.

Just had the classic breakfast. 2 eggs over easy. Bacon. Home fries. Raisin toast. It was delicious. Especially the home fries. Never had home fries so good. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly.

First stop on the many places I went to eat in Myrtle Beach. People are pretty serious about their breakfast in these parts. Got the corned beef hash and eggs with grits to go (wanted to enjoy as much beach as possible). For basically $7 got scrambled eggs, grits, hashbrowns, and buttered cinnamon raisin bread. Decent meal, but I found everything a bit too salty. The buttered bread was easily the best part. I might go again for the sit down version, but there's a lot of breakfast in the area to try.

    (3)
  • Mike W.

Just as good as the others but service seems even better here. Best to come real early on weekdays. Wknds, especially Sundays with the church crowd get busy.

Decided to try out this place for breakfast since I'm staying in Surfside and this place was amazing. I got the cuppa cocoa which was super delicious and tasted just like a cappuccino. I then ordered the corn beef hash meal in which they offered a variety of breads. I ended up going with the raisin bread. The grits are perfect! Will be back!! This is a must go eat place!

Amazing breakfast! The home fried potatoes were fantastic. So was the omelette and the toast well made. The quantity was filling. People working there were friendly and very attentive. I was never that happy after a breakfast! :-)

Great place to eat. You may pass a restaurant called Jenny's on the way, but keep going. You won't be sorry! Food was excellent...eggs done perfectly, reasonable prices and great service.

A chain breakfast spot in and around Myrtle Beach area. Nothing fancy which I tend to enjoy. The breakfast was as I ordered it, although their home fries were pretty good for what you get at some other places. coffee was so-so but cost with tip was fair.

Probably a 3.5 but too good to give only a 3. Yelped it from Myrtle Beach Airport and sounded like the best bet for breakfast for ride home to Chucktown. I think that is true and this place is busy as can be. We were seated almost immediately but it was full. And the menu is awesome. Great breakfast options without too much fru fru stuff. My choice was 2 eggs over easy with biscuit and gravy and home fries! That is what I call a breakfast. My daughter was able to get French Toast and something else. My wife made the poor choice of trying to get healthy. never works for breakfast. Omelet with egg whites, turkey bacon, spinach, etc. It was pretty bad. Even for healthy. She ate very little of it but she admitted shoe ordered bad. So, healthy eaters avoid this place, really! But if you want just good old southern style breakfast, this is the place and the prices were reasonable. Long wait but place was full and my family made a few special requests which did not help. Overall a good place to eat a good breakfast! But don't try the healthy option. Go somewhere else for that. I will be back.

Went here for breakfast and had a 20 min wait to get in. They were busy and all the wait staff were nonstop. I got the 3 egg omelet with bacon, swiss and american cheese. The wife got french toast with eggs. Both were good, just your average breakfast nothing special. Price was fair for what we got.

Good food, good service, good prices - this place had it all. Nothing out of the ordinary about the place, but it fires on all levels, above-average standard breakfast, friendly service and very reasonable. Recommended when looking for a good breakfast!

Food was excellent, service was friendly and quick. Waited for a table for 15 minutes at 9:30 am which wasn't bad. Had the ham and cheese omelet and hash browns. The only negative part of the stay was where we sat. Table for 2 allotted me a very small table to be packed in like sardines. Next time I will wait for a booth. The food was excellent though!

Another great find! Went looking for Nalu's (closed) and found this. THe Banana's Foster waffle was unbelievable. Great omelets and corned beef hash. Good service too. I would return. Without a doubt.

The pancakes, oatmeal, eggs, and bacon were good. The coffee was not great, but overall it is hard to mess up breakfast food. I demoted it to three stars because it was pricier than most breakfast places around here with the same fare. The appeal of sitting outside on a sunny day was initially attractive, specially because it was cold inside. However, we soon realized it was a bad idea because we were swarmed by flies. This is not entirely the restaurants fault, but it made it a three-star experience.

The menu and service were fantastic. We had the Belgian waffles, pancakes and French toast. All were griddled to perfection! Healthy options with egg whites and fruit are also available. Highly recommend.

Let me just say that this place is Southern Diner fare at its best. I took my family (2 adults and 3 kids ranging from under two to 9). The wait staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and great with my 20 month old son. I typically would give a breakfast joint a basic rating. It is very difficult to screw up breakfast. Here, the selections were decent and the taste was just right. What sets this over is the southern charm of the diner and its staff. It helped start off our last day at Surfside on the right tone. I recommend the Mason Dixon.

I gave this place a few tries before I decided to write a review. The location is extremely convenient to my office. Most of the other places are the big chains and tourist traps and I avoid those whenever possible. This place made me wish I had gone to McDonald's instead. The service is nonexistent and I sat at the counter. Strike one. The food is thrown together and has a poor presentation. Strike two. I had to wait a very long time to pay. Strike three. It was a great disappointment. I would not recommend it to anyone and I will not return. It's hard to mess up chicken salad but they managed to do it.

Awesome breakfast, coffee and staff. My husband and I were vacationing in Myrtle Beach and went here because of the yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! Stayed in Myrtle for 5 days and had breakfast here 3 of the days. Could not get enough. Between the two of us we had several different items on the menu and everything from eggs(cooked just the way we ordered them), bacon, sausage, pancakes and omelets were fabulous. Omelets were large and filled and the home fries were delicious, not greasy or without flavor. Will definitely be back on next vacation.

Not too many choices for a vegetarian. My buddies really enjoyed their meals, and would probably rate it one star higher.

Good food and service. Whole I visited on a busy Sunday morning, the staff was very friendly and efficient in seating us. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good, and the menu was extensive enough without being overwhelming. The prices were reasonable as well. Three of us had breakfast for under $30. I would definitely eat here again.

This place is great. I have been going there for years. This is the best place for breakfast in town and definitely not a tourist trap. They have the best home fries and biscuits. Good food at a great price. The owner Lou is super nice and his friendly staff is awesome, especially Amanda P.

It was a pretty decent breakfast. We were there on Sunday from 8:30 til about 9:40 and there were still a few open tables. Place had a decent number of tables and also had some outside. The waitstaff was very friendly and service was pretty quick. The menu has your typical breakfast fare...nothing really fancy. I had the corned beef brisket hash, and really enjoyed it. My wife went for the eggs benedict and she loved it. The portions are worth the price. It's a good breakfast and the price is right, so if you want to go out one morning check it out.

Good stuff - they are only open for breakfast through early lunch. Eggs are clearly the special but everything I've had is great. Casual place, decent prices. The servers have iPods with an app that sends your order to the kitchen so if you are a tech nerd, this is your place.

While the incident today was actually at the brand new Garden City Beach location, the same thing has happened in the past at the Surfside Beach location. That plus the fact that the new location does not even have free listings on the Internet yet, is the reason I'm posting this constructive conviction (vs. destructive condemnation) here. I'm talking about the waitress not telling the customer that something they are about to order has an "upcharge", and having the excuse later that "It's on the menu as an upcharge". I'm hoping that the Eggs Up Grill upper management reads this and instructs all their managers at the individual restaurants to instruct all their waitresses to say "There is a small upcharge for that." Right now, it appears that rather than putting the responsibility of having proper pricing expectations on the server and the menu, it is put solely on the early morning's customer's brain to read every word on the menu and have it memorized. I probably am wrong about my assumption now when I say that it almost appears as if the upper management of this local restaurant chain actually wants people to be mislead, so as to marginally increase profits, and the server's tips (over a year's time). The truth is most customers don't want to appear as "cheap", or create a "complaint environment" in the restaurant, so they just go home not having that "warm and fuzzy" feeling about the restaurant. Please, upper management, have strict instructions that are checked up on, and enforced, so that you "over-deliver" on customer service. My wife and I can easily afford the incremental extra charge, but some people may not like getting a higher bill than they expect in this economy. Oh, and the portion size of the corned beef hash at the new store was much smaller than the portion I got at the Surfside Beach location a while ago. I don't know if they've cut back the portion size, or if it is arbitrarily done, but the new smaller portion did not seem worth the price, IMO.

  • Michael B.

Better than the chain breakfast restaurants in the area. I liked the semi-open kitchen design. Food was 3 stars at best, but atmosphere and the fact that our waitress used an iPhone gives this place the extra star. My order was prepared and served as requested, however it had been ready for a while because my eggs and "fries" were luke warm. Had my food been hot, this would've been an excellent meal... The "fries" are definitely worth getting! I would return for a second chance at getting the temps right, because everything else was top notch.

  • Scott B.

The breakfast was okay, but nothing special. Better than IHOP, but it still had the feel of a chain. Portions were adequate, but smaller than some diners. I think it is a local place that has become successful and expanded. While the waitstaff was very friendly and there were a few bits of local charm (such as the map with pins to show where diners are visting from), the food didn't live up to what I'd expect from a local sort of place. The address was wrong on yelp, but if you just continue driving toward Myrtle Beach, you'll find it tucked in next to a Piggly Wiggly.

I like to order my eggs over medium. I have been there several times and probably half the time they will serve the eggs even if they break the yolk. I am weird and like to eat my yolks first. They should just make another egg if they break it.

From the time my wife and I were seated we fell in love with this place. The decor is country and the atmosphere is country. The food was just right, and our waitress was good. We will definately be back to this place next time we are in the area.

Eggs Up, thumbs down. We had a group of 7, and only had to wait a few minutes for a table. It took our server about 10 minutes to get to us, and by then we were all ready to order. It took FOREVER to get our food. Several of our dishes were barely warm. We couldn't figure out if it was the kitchen's fault, or our server's. I got sweet potato pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs. My pancakes were ok, but could have been warmer. I got my son a pancake off the kid's menu, and he could get 2 things with it, so we got a scrambled egg and potatoes. He really liked his pancake and ate all of it, so I had to give him some of my pancakes. Our server seemed very frazzled. When it was time to go, she asked if we wanted separate checks (we did, 3 checks), and she disappeared for a LONG time. She said that there was a problem splitting the checks, that she was resending stuff to the kitchen. Meanwhile, it looked like the 2 owners or managers (they looked like they ran the place) just observed and did nothing to help her or step in. She finally got our checks split and they were all wrong. We went to the register and had the cashier fix things. It took almost 2 hours for a party of 7 to eat at a breakfast place. The food was ok, but it just took way too long.
